Graduated in Visual Arts with emphasis on computer graphics – UTP (2013) and Postgraduate in Social History of Art – PUC/PR (2016). Mariana main investigative language is painting, articulating media, supports and techniques in works directly linked to digital communication tools. The artist explores scenic, allegorical and narrative resources seeking to provide a re-signification of data through appropriation and montage. With an interest in the materiality of the image, she develops objects, graphic studies and web projects. She is currently researching the relationship between art and affection in the insertion and placement of works online.

Licenciada em Artes Visuais com ênfase em computação gráfica – UTP (2013) e Pós-graduada em História Social da Arte – PUC/PR (2016). Possui como principal linguagem investigativa a pintura, articulando mídias, suportes e técnicas em trabalhos diretamente vinculados a ferramentas de comunicação digital. Explora recursos cênicos, alegóricos e narrativos buscando proporcionar a ressignificação de dados através da apropriação e montagem. Com interesse voltado para a materialidade da imagem, desenvolve objetos, estudos gráficos e projetos para web. Atualmente pesquisa a relação entre arte e afeto na inserção e veiculação de trabalhos on-line.

I was born a wild animal, keeping an eye out and sparing words. Restless mind, I grew up dividing my time between observing nature and exploring the globalization of the world through a PC screen. When I realized it, I was questioning images and trying to perceive the presence of something unrepresentable in their material aspects. This sparked my interest in things that cannot be explained – and guide beliefs and ways of life – in different contexts and cultures.

Investigating pictorial language in an expanded way, I started to combine personal records, browsing data, presence and interactions on the web in multimedia compositions. Searching, in this volatile environment of possibles and excesses, to find, in banal characteristics, reasons for sublime compositions. Working with the materiality of the image, I develop installation/intervention projects, objects and graphic studies. When presenting them in digital formats, I also research ways of publishing them online through digital marketing tools.

I have in mind that through manipulating a symbolic surface, it is possible to generate identification and recognition – here and now. Being guided by the different ways of perceiving oneself as a subject and by the potential for media interference in affective unfolding. Thus, the naturalness with which we stop to observe what we cannot see moves me. A constant exercise of knowing oneself and the world, mediated by interfaces. I bet, for the most part, the voice that sounds as you read these words is not mine. After all, we are not limited to just receiving the sensitive; we also produce it.

Nasci bicho do mato, mantendo o olhar atento e economizando palavras. Mente inquieta, cresci dividindo o tempo entre observar a natureza e explorar a globalização do mundo através da tela de um PC. Quando me dei conta, estava questionando imagens e buscando perceber em seus aspectos materiais, a presença de algo irrepresentável. Isso despertou meu interesse por coisas que não se explicam, e que direcionam crenças e formas de vida em diferentes contextos e culturas.

Investigando a linguagem pictórica de forma expandida, passei a combinar registros pessoais, dados de navegação, presença e interações na web em composições multimídia. Buscando, nesse meio volátil de possíveis e excessos, encontrar em características banais, motivos para composições sublimes. Ao trabalhar com a materialidade da imagem, desenvolvo projetos de instalação/intervenção, objetos e estudos gráficos. Ao apresenta-los em formatos digitais, pesquiso também, modos de veiculação online através do uso de ferramentas de marketing digital.

Tenho em mente que através da manipulação de uma superfície simbólica é possível gerar identificação e reconhecimento – aqui e agora. Sendo guiada pelas diferentes formas de se perceber como sujeito e pela potencialidade de interferência das mídias em desdobramentos afetivos. Assim, me move a naturalidade com que paramos para observar aquilo que não podemos ver. Um exercício constante de conhecer a si e o mundo, mediados por interfaces. Aposto que em grande parte, a voz que soa enquanto lê essas palavras, não é minha. Afinal, não estamos limitados a apenas receber o sensível, também o produzimos.
