Danielle Cukierman
Lives and works in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Danielle Cukierman is interested in paths, escape routes and shortcuts. In recent years, the artist has been dedicating herself to creating large-scale installations with tactile floors, in which spectators are invited to walk through the spaces from different access points and points of view.

Embroidery

In the works gathered in this exhibition, Cukierman produced embroidered QR codes, whose format and elements refer directly to the tactile floors. When pointing to the embroideries with the phone, the code will direct the viewers to the artist’s propositions about the spatial and temporal perception of those who visit the space. Cukierman places herself, in her works, as a proposer and opener of non-obvious paths that go through a physical and sensorial relationship with the inhabited space.
