The title ceci n’est pas la réproduction interdite is a play on words that are part of the universe of works by René Magritte, being “ceci n’est pas une pipe” from the work La Trahison des images of 1928–1929 and La réproduction interdite from 1937, indicating that reproduction is allowed and that the work is completed with the interaction of the one who puts himself on stage and registers his presence in front of the painting.

Juliano Mazzuchini references the works of Magritte, both aesthetically and for the use of photography as part of the process of creating paintings.
